About the Artist

Lifetime artist Judy Jacobs is a painter living in Northern California.  Her works have been described as bold, modern, simple and naive, minimalistic, organic and timeless. Her paintings are vivacious yet peaceful and sophisticated, and are derived from personal inner journeys and strokes of chance. The artist layers countless washes of color with paint (oils, gouache or acrylic) and graphite or charcoal lines while examining various thoughts and emotions as each painting takes on a life of its own.  She paints various subjects including simple still life, colorful pondscapes, peaceful water scenes, moody seascapes and dynamic abstracts.  Jacobs is inspired by the work of Henri Matisse, William Scott, Helen Frankenthaler, Giorgio Morandi and Richard Diebenkorn.
